Villafranca
|
The Malgrate Castle,
built in the 14th century as a military fortress and then two centuries
later turned into a Malaspina residence, towers over this old village.
Worth a visit: St. Francesco Church (1530), where important terracotta
works from the Della Robbia School are to be found.

The Ethnographic Museum still boasts collections
of objects and handicrafts from the old farming culture and from the folk
culture of Lunigiana, such as equipment for the processing of hemp, wheat
and chestnuts, resources of great importance for the local diet and
economy.
In Villafranca there are several antique shops.
