Castiglioncello

 |
| With 3,000 inhabitants, about 3 kms from Leghorn, the elegant town of Castiglioncello, is one of the most beautiful localities of coastal Leghorn. From here the renowned "Costa degli Etruschi",
the Etruscan Coast begins. |
From a panoramic view point, Castiglioncello is situated in a privileged position, being far from the busy highways it has remained unknown and
untouched, with its thriving pine forests and its spectacular rocks.
It is a great place to meet, thanks to the late night opening of shops in the town centre and its restaurants that offer fresh local fish.
Among the well equipped beaches lies San Vincenzo with about 3 kms of coast from which a tower, built by the Pisans in 1304, rises which served as part of the coastal protection system against the then frequent pirate
invasions.
Pasquini Castle, built around 1889 by Baron Lazzaro Patrone, hosts many cultural events and
shows.
